Ambedkar’s death anniversary observed

The Mahaparinirvan Divas (death anniversary) of B.R. Ambedkar was observed here on Thursday, with a large number of people and senior officials paying floral tributes to the Ambedkar statue. Deputy Commissioner Prasanna Kumar, Superintendent of Police Sateesh Kumar, and Gulbarga City Corporation Commissioner Somashekar Melinamani were among the senior officials who garlanded the Ambedkar statue. The Deputy Commissioner recalled Ambedkar’s contribution to society. Dalit leader D.G. Sagar also spoke.

The Dalit Sanghatanegala Samanvaya Samiti observed Mahaparinirvan Divas (death anniversary) of B.R. Ambedkar here on Thursday.

Jyotirmayananda Swami, seer of the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Ashram, Gyani Darbara Singh of the Gurdwara Guru Nanak Jhira, Bhante Ananda, Akka Gangambika and Vaijnath Suryawanshi, organising secretary of the Bahujan Samaj Party, were present, along with leaders Shankar Doddi, Raju Kadyal, G.M. Yatnur and Anil Kumar Beldar.
