The Karnataka State Secondary Education Examination Board has increased daily allowances and other allowances of evaluators of answer scripts SSLC examination.

Allowances for evaluators of first language answer scripts have gone up from Rs. 8.30 to Rs. 11 (per paper). For evaluating second/third language scripts, they have gone up from Rs. 7.40 to Rs. 10 per paper.

Allowances for other subject papers have increased from Rs. 8 to 10.60 per paper.

The SSLC examination will commence on April 1.

Daily allowances for evaluators in Bangalore have increased from Rs. 250 to Rs. 330, and for those in other places from Rs. 200 to Rs. 260. While local allowances in Bangalore have gone up from Rs. 100 to Rs. 130, in other places, they have gone up from Rs. 80 to Rs. 105, according to an order from the board. It said that allowances for camp custodians and camp assistants had been increased from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 400 to Rs. 700 per day, respectively.

The board has also increased allowances of officials supervising examinations. While the chief inspector’s allowances have increased from Rs. 75 to Rs. 100 per day, those of room supervisors have gone up from Rs. 45 to Rs. 60 per day.

Allowances of examination assistants and group ‘D’ employees have increased from Rs. 35 to Rs. 46 and from Rs. 25 to Rs. 33, respectively, the order said. The board revises allowances once in three years. The last revision took place in April 2010. Teachers have been demanding an increase in allowances for the last two years.
