MYSORE: Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Praful Patel will inaugurate the modernised Mysore airport on Saturday.

The inaugural function will take place at 1 p.m. on the airport premises at Mandakalli on Mysore-Nanjangud Road.

The Minister will inaugurate facilities created by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) at an estimated cost of Rs. 60 crore, to signal the readiness of the airport to handle commercial flights.

Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah, Mysore MP A.H. Vishwanath, Union Minister for Law and Justice M. Veerappa Moily and Mysore district in-charge Minister S. Suresh Kumar are among those who will be present on the occasion.
