MYSORE: Activists of the All-India Democratic Youth Organisation (AIDYO) staged a demonstration in the city on Wednesday decrying the commercialisation of cricket through the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The activists alleged that black money was being injected into the sport and criticised the authorities for serving liquor at the venue of the matches in violation of the law of the land. The sanctity of the game had been violated. The activists also objected to the tax holidays extended to the IPL by the Government. They were led by the organisation's district unit president Yashodhara.
