Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Saturday said that the Government would sanction Rs. 5 crore for the establishment of an agricultural college in Gadag.

He was addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone of the new building of the Veterinary Sciences College on Hombal Road in Gadag.

Mr. Yeddyurappa said that the Bharatiya Janata Party Government had given priority to promoting animal husbandry and added that Rs. 521 crore had been set aside for the purpose in the current fiscal. District in-charge Minister C.C. Patil and MLAs Shrishailappa Bidarur and Kalakappa Bandi were present.

The Veterinary Sciences College is being built at a cost of Rs. 58.46 crore on 126.15 acres of land.
