Bangalore: A 27-year-old advocate died on the spot when a van hit her two-wheeler near Shantala Silks in Majestic area on Friday.

The police gave her name as Hemavathi, a resident of Kempapura.

As soon as she fell on the road, the van ran over her head, the police said.

The van driver fled from the spot.

The Chickpet traffic police have registered a case.

Murder case solved

The HAL police have recovered remains of a body from the ravines of Shiradi Ghat and claimed to have solved the case of kidnapping and murder of an instructor at a gymnasium. Madialagan (37), a resident of Vigyannagar in the city had gone missing since February 19, 2009.

A missing complaint was filed with the HAL police.

The police have claimed to have solved the case with the arrest of Gopinatha Rao alias Gopi (43), a resident of Kushal Layout in Kaggadasapur, and Immanuel Stanley P. Paul (40), a resident of Udaynagar.

Madialagan had allegedly developed an illicit relationship with Savithri, second wife of Gopi.

On February 19, he took the victim to his house and allegedly strangled him.
