The Jan Chetana Rath Yatra taken out by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani will reach Uttara Kannada on October 31, said BJP's district unit president Prasad Karwarkar.
He told presspersons here on Wednesday that on October 31, the yatra would reach Bhatkal from Udupi district at 6.30 p.m.
Mr. Advani would be given a grand welcome at Gorte in Bhatkal taluk and a motorcycle rally would be held.He said Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda, BJP State unit president K.S. Eshwarappa, BJP national secretary H.N. Ananth Kumar, and Kanara MP Anant Kumar Hegde would participate in the function, he said.
On November 1, Mr. Advani would visit Murudeshwar temple and leave for Honnavar. A public meeting was arranged at Manaki ground in Kumta, Mr. Prasad said.
Mr. Advani would address a public meeting on Manaki ground. Nearly 20,000 people were expected to participate in the meeting, he said. From there, Mr. Advani would leave for Karwar where he would address a public meeting and leave for Goa. He would be given farewell at Majali near Karnataka-Goa border in Karwar taluk, Mr. Prasad said.
BJP Karwar unit president Rajesh Nayak, general secretary Gaja Krishna Surangekar, secretary Dattaram Kochrekar, and BJP media co-ordinator Nagaraj Joshi were present.
