Udupi: Manorama Madhwaraj, MP, has urged Railway Minister Lalu Prasad to delink the Matsyagandhi Express from the Maveli Express.

In a letter sent to Mr. Yadav, copies of which were released to the press here on Monday, Ms. Madhwaraj said that the only train originating from Mangalore to Mumbai had been merged with Train No. 6317 Maveli Express.

Owing to this, the Maveli Express originating from Thiruvananthapuram would get fully occupied before reaching Mangalore and the people of coastal Karnataka were not able to get reservation, he said.

Ms. Madhwaraj urged Mr. Yadav to introduce an additional train between Mangalore and Mumbai Central through Vasai Road as a large number of people were travelling between the districts in coastal Karnataka and Mumbai Central.
