Will protest if allegations continue

The newly-floated Sarva Dharma Vedike has urged the State government to initiate appropriate action as per the law, against those carrying out defamatory campaigns against the Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala.

In a statement issued by vedike secretary Rajeev Doddannavar here on Monday, he said the arrest of an accused in the rape and murder of a girl in Ujire, had brought relief to all.

Justice to the bereaved family must be delivered at the earliest, the statement said.

Vested interests

Several vested interests had been exploiting this incident to defame Shri Kshetra Dharamasthala and its Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade, the vedike said.

The vedike threatened to launch a protest if the organisations or individuals continued to make such allegations.
