BANGALORE: Kannada Development Authority Chairman Mukyamantri Chandru has appealed to the Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari to take action against the Under Secretary of his office who has mentioned in a letter that Belgaum district is part of Maharashtra.

In a press release, Mr. Chandru said such mistakes would hurt the sentiments of the people of Karnataka which may create law and order problem. Such a mistake should not have happened by the Vice-President’s office, which has to uphold the integrity of the country.

The act of Maharastra raising the border issue now and then is intolerable although Karnataka had expressed its stand that Mahajan Report is final.

The Union Government is also supporting that State by maintaining silence, he alleged. — Staff Reporter
