PANAJI: Shantaram Naik, Rajya Sabha MP from Goa, has demanded that the Rules under the Scheduled Tribes and other Traditional Forest Dwellers(Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006 should be framed and the Act should be brought into force immediately.

Making a special mention in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, Mr. Naik said the Ministry of Tribal Affairs has constituted a Technical Support Group on February 12 this year for framing the draft rules for carrying out the provisions of the Scheduled Tribes and other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act.
