The Shri Jain Shwetambar Terapanth Sabha on Thursday celebrated the 99th birth anniversary of Anuvrat Acharya Tulsi at the Anuvrat Bhavan in Gandhinagar.

“Acharya Tulsi would always say that he was first a human, then a Jain and only then a Terapanthi. His contribution to society cannot be described in words,” said Prakash Chand Lodha, president of the Terapanth Samiti, Bangalore.

The samiti also released a book, The Legend of Humanity , based on the life of Acharya Tulsi.

Sanjay Dhariwal, president of the Terapanth Professional Forum, said: “Though India gained freedom in 1947, certain evils in our society still prevail. The way shown by Acharya Tulsi in this respect has helped us create a society based on truth and self-constraint in life.”
