HUBLI: Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarti Parishad (ABVP) has urged the State Government to revise the seat-sharing pattern and the fee structure for professional courses.

ABVP regional organising secretary N. Ravikumar told presspersons here on Tuesday that although the ABVP welcomed the efforts of the State Government in arriving at a consensus on seat-sharing and fee structure through discussion with the managements of private institutions, it was against the scheme worked out through the process.

The fee and seat-sharing structure worked out favoured the rich students against the economically weaker meritorious students. To help these students, the State Government should revise the seat-sharing ratio, he said. Apart from that the fee should be reduced. It should be Rs. 10,000, Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20,000 for government engineering, medical and dental colleges.
