MYSORE: The Mysore City Corporation (MCC) in association with a few NGOs has stepped up the animal birth control (ABC) programme in the city to check the stray dog numbers. The programme, which began a few days ago, was intensified on Thursday; a team of eight doctors from West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra are camping in the city, while the services of 20 dog-catching experts from Nepal has also been roped in.

The programme may continue for at least three months. The Catch Neuter Vaccinate Release procedure is being performed on the dogs.
