BANGALORE: With International Day of Persons with Disabilities seeking to bring the issues relating to the differently abled, the Government, voluntary organisations and educational institutions are holding a variety of activities on Thursday in a conscious effort to create awareness.

A daylong film festival by Jain University on its premises on Palace Road hopes to sensitise people on the rights of the differently abled as set out in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD), which came into force in May 2008. Call 22355490 or 43430200.

The Foundation for Action, Motivation and Empowerment (F.A.M.E India) is organising an Inter-School Sports Meet with the support of Rotary, Bangalore Central, at the Madhavan Park in Jayanagar, between 8.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. to bring the students of special schools and mainstream schools together.
