The 3-MW grid connected solar power plant in Yapaladinni, Raichur, was commissioned on February 10. This plant generates about 13,000 units a day, which is expected to touch 17,000 units once the initial glitches are overcome, sources said.

While the commissioning of the plant was a low-key affair, a programme to formally dedicate the plant is likely to be held in April. The plant, which is the third grid-connected solar plant in the state, is expected to take care of the power supply needs of irrigation pump sets in villages around the project area.
