A youth from Bylahalli fell to the police bullets while trying to get a glimpse of Rajkumar's body

HASSAN: A pall of gloom has descended on Bylahalli, 17 km from here, as one of the village residents Janardhan (23) died in police firing in Bangalore on Thursday when he tried to get a glimpse of Kannada thespian Rajkumar in Bangalore.

Janardhan was standing in the first floor of a building near Kanteerava Stuidos. When the police fired in the air to disperse a violent mob, a bullet hit him and he fell from the building.

His body was cremated at Bylahalli on Friday night in the presence of his friends and family members. Janardhan's parents, Lingashetty and Jayamma, are yet to come to grips with the tragedy. He was the breadwinner of the family. His parents are work as daily wage earners in the village.

Janardhan left for Bangalore in search of a job seven years ago. He started off with working in various hotels in Bangalore city and later joined a garment company. He joined another company recently and used to live at Parimala Nagara.

His parents planned to hold his wedding in June.

Nagesh, a close friend of Janardhan, said he got a call from his friend on Thursday about the tragedy.

When Nagesh reached the spot, he could not find Janardhan's body. With the help of his friends among the policemen, he managed to find the body and brought it to Bylahalli.

Even two days after the death of Janardhan, none of the officials have bothered to reach out to his parents and assure them of paying compensation, said relatives of the parents, who are in grief.
