BANGALORE: For students of Vivekananda School, who had gathered for the 10th anniversary celebrations here recently, the time was just ripe to unleash their skills. It was an opportunity to impress their parents and teachers and to show off their talents.
Folk dance, patriotic songs and other cultural activities dominated the proceedings.
Even as Governor T.N. Chaturvedi planted a sapling and urged the Government to protect the right to education of children, the students were preparing for the big events that would follow.
They had practised for weeks for this momentous day.
And they did not disappoint the audience as they occupied the centre stage with programme after programme.
Supriya S., a student of tenth standard, had a special reason to celebrate the day; she was chosen the "Best Student of the School." Teachers who completed 10 years of service were felicitated on the occasion.
