Teachers’ Day was celebrated with much fanfare in several schools

BANGALORE: Cluny Convent High School, Jalahalli, celebrated Teacher’s Day with students displaying their love and gratitude to their teachers.

The day began with a prayer service keeping in mind the well-being of all the teachers.

The tiny tots gave a performance which was a feast to the eyes of their teachers.

“Retro” was the theme for the day and the teachers went down memory lane. They remembered their school days and recounted their experiences, which brought a smile on the faces of the audience.

As a token of their appreciation and love, students presented flowers and gifts to their teachers. Various competitions were conducted for teachers by the student council.

At Roan

At Roan International School, Vijayanagar, students made the day memorable for their mentors.

The day witnessed an outpouring of gratitude by students who vied with each other to please their favourite teachers. They presented flowers, sweets, chocolates and gifts to them.

The day was marked by various competitions for teachers organised by the management.

To boost their enthusiasm, the students cheered them on.

The day ended with the all-time favourite “musical chairs”, which saw the participation of all teachers.

Civic club launch

Capitol Public School, JP Nagar, in association with CMCA (Children’s Movement for Civic Awareness) launched a civic club “Capital Rangers” recently.

Students of classes 7 and 8 are its members. They presented a skit and highlighted the importance of keeping our surroundings clean and green.

They also took an oath to be active citizens and bring positive changes to their surroundings.

Sports meet

The Association of Schools for the Indian School Certificate (ASISC) – Karnataka, will conduct the regional sports meet for students of ICSE schools from September 16 to 18.

The meet, jointly hosted by Sri Vani Education Centre and India International School, is expected to attract students from 32 schools across the State.

The event begins with a swimming competition on September 16 at India International School followed by a basketball competition on September 19, and ends with athletic events on September 18 at Jayanagar Corporation Stadium.

The winners in various events at the meet will represent Karnataka at the national meet, which will be held in Ahmedabad during October – November.
