MYSORE: The S.V.E.I. Composite Pre-University College here celebrated the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on a grand scale on Tuesday. The function was presided over by Swami Muktidananda, Correspondent, Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala.

The swami delivered a talk on the message of Swami Vivekananda and its importance to the youth. He urged students to develop a spiritual attitude while progressing in life. The celebrations were particularly significant as Swami Vivekananda had camped in Mysore for nearly three weeks and was the guest of then Maharaja of Mysore Sri Chamaraja Wadiyar. He stayed in the Niranjan Math on Narayana Shastry Road and delivered inspiring talks on Vedanta and the Upanishads, when the country needed awakening.

On the occasion, meritorious students from the institution were felicitated.
