A whopping 7.81 lakh vehicles were registered in the State in 2009-10, said Minister for Transport R. Ashok. In a reply to an unstarred question of Bagali S. Satagouda of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Mr. Ashok said 7,81,730 vehicles have been registered in 2009-10 against 7,01,186 vehicles in 2008-09 and 8,06,643 vehicles in 2007-08.

Grant-in aid

In a reply to Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah during the Zero Hour, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Visveshwara Hegde Kageri said that the Government would provide grant-in aid to all un-aided schools and colleges opened before 1995. The process had been delayed following the Government's financial austerity measures.
