As many as 7,648 students will appear for the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority in Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday and Thursday.

The tests will be conducted in 12 centres. Of them, seven are in the city, three in Moodbidri and two in Puttur.

Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav has appointed an observer for each centre in addition to the examiners.

The test will be conducted at St. Aloysius Pre-University College, Kodialbail; Madhusoodana Kushe Pre-University College, Attavar; Paduva Pre-University College, Nanthoor; St. Agnes College, Bendoorwell; Canara Pre-University College, M.G. Road; Sharada Pre-University College, Kodialbail; Milagres Pre-University College, Hampankatta (all in Mangalore); Alva's Pre-University College; Mahaveera Pre-University College; and Jain Pre-University College (all in Moodbidri); and Philomena Pre-University College, and Government Pre-University College in Puttur.

3,040 in Udupi

Udupi Staff Correspondent reports: The stage is set for the CET in Udupi district.

According to information provided by the Department of Pre-University Education here on Tuesday, 3,040 students are expected to appear for the CET in the district.

There are four CET centres in Udupi, two in Kundapur, and one each in Manipal and Karkala. The centres along with number of students in brackets in Udupi are Vidyodaya Pre-University College (368), Udupi Government Girls' Pre-University College (304), Poornaprajna Pre-University College (368) and MGM Pre-University College (368). The two centres in Kundapur are Bhandarkars Pre-University College and Kundapur Government Pre-University College with 432 students each.

As many as 400 students will appear for the CET at Sri Bhuvanendra Pre-University College in Karkala, and 368 at the Manipal Pre-University College in Manipal.

Every examination centre will have an observer, a custodian and a two-member special vigilance squad.

Prohibitory orders will be in force around the CET centres from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both the days, according to a press release issued by Additional Deputy Commissioner T.M. Prabhakar.
