CHAMARAJANAGAR: Chamarajanagar district registered a pass percentage of 50.33 in the second pre-university examination and secured the 12th position in the State. A total of 9,136 students registered for the examination, of which 6,385 were freshers, 2,383 were repeaters and 371 were private candidates. As many as 33 students secured distinction.

T.V. Geetha of Nisarga College, Kollegal, secured 555 marks out of 600 and is the top scorer from the district.

Out of the 4,292 students who appeared for the examination in arts stream, 1,956 students passed. In science stream, out of 994 students, 424 students passed the examination. In commerce stream, out of 1030 students, 745 students passed the examination. Rural students performed better with a pass percentage of 51.43 compared to urban students with a pass percentage of 48.25 in the district.
