GULBARGA: As many as 38,021 students in Gulbarga and Yadgir Education districts will appear for the SSLC examinations in the district which is scheduled to begin on March 31.

Sources said here on Wednesday that while 27,639 students would appear for the examinations in the Gulbarga Education District, 10,382 students would take the examinations in the Yadgir Education District.

While Gulbarga would have 90 examination centres, Yadgir would have 32.

A preparatory meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Pankajkumar Pandey and Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat P.C. Jaffer decided to identify hyper-sensitive and sensitive examination centres and constitute vigilance squads to prevent copying and other examination malpractices.

The sources said that 23 hyper sensitive and 36 sensitive examination centres had been identified in the Gulbarga Education District and four sensitive examination centres had been identified in the Yadgir Education District.

Precautionary measures would be taken in these centres to prevent examination malpractices.

Additional policemen would be posted in these centres and the vigilance squads would make more rounds in these centres during the examination.

The meeting decided to ban cellular phones inside the examination centres as a precautionary measure and also to impose prohibitory orders around a 200-metre radius near the examination centres.
