Revenue Minister V. Srinivas Prasad has said that the government has recruited as many as 1,864 surveyors in the State.
Speaking to presspersons at the District Congress office here on Tuesday, he said that the surveyors were being trained in Mysore, Gulbarga, Tumkur and Dharwad, to ensure speedy completion of works.
“The Congress party in the State is committed to protecting the interests of the people and fulfilling promises made during the Assembly elections. There is no dearth of funds for tackling emergency situations in the State and officials have been instructed to tackle natural calamities on a war footing,” Mr. Prasad said.
Officers have been instructed to take steps to ensure drinking water is supplied regularly to districts facing acute shortage of water owing to scanty rainfall.
