HUBLI: Sixteen degree colleges from various districts of north Karnataka will participate in the KSCA approved 20-20 cricket tournament being hosted by Oxford College in Hubli.

Chairman of the College Vasanth Horatti and Director R.V. Dadibhavi told presspersons here on Wednesday that the tournament would be held from January 17 to 24 to provide a platform for the young cricketers of the region to exhibit their talent.

Mr. Horatti said that very often in spite of being talented, young cricketers from the region missed the exposure which youngsters in Bangalore and other cities got.

Since KSCA had approved the tournament and KSCA referees would be officiating the matches, the certificates and prizes awarded would carry more weightage. The tournament would be conducted on knock-out basis.

Kalaghatagi MLA Santosh wqill inaugurate the tournament. Sports and Youth Services Minister Goolihatti Shekhar will participate in the valedictory ceremony.
