GULBARGA: Fourteen candidates filed their nomination papers in the seven Assembly constituencies in Bagalkot district on Monday.

The former Minister Govind Karjol of the Bharatiya Janata Party filed his papers from the Mudhol Assembly constituency and the former MLAs Veeranna Charantimutt, Doddanagowda Patil, Siddappa Savadi and Murugesh Nirani from Bagalkot city, Hungund, Terdal, and Bilagi Assembly constituencies respectively.

H.Y. Meti, a former MLA, filed his papers as a Congress candidate from Bagalkot city along with Girish Kulkarni, an independent candidate.

Bennur Ningappa Basappa of the Janata Dal (Secular) and S. Basavaraj of the Rashtriya Hindustan Sena have sought to contest from Badami and Bilagi constituencies respectively.

Srikant Kulkarni of the BJP and Siddu Nyamagowda of the Congress filed their papers from the Jamkhandi Assembly constituency. C. Sushilkumar filed his papers as an independent from the Jamkhandi segment.

Kallappa Girisagar and Dhanappa Asangi filed their papers as independents from the Terdal Assembly segment.
