Online file tracking to be introduced for applications

Criminal action against unauthorised development, ushering in transparency, timeline for delivery of services, and planning according to available resources are among the initiatives announced by VUDA Vice-Chairman N. Yuvaraj.

Online file tracking would be introduced for applications seeking change of land use, layout or building approval, and criminal action would be initiated against developing without approval from VUDA and developing in violation of the approvals obtained, Dr. Yuvaraj said.

For approvals after deciding prima facie eligibility, time would be decided to get all the documents by the applicant after which a date would be fixed for combined inspection by the VUDA wings concerned leading to final approval. The various stages in the process would also be SMSed to the applicant, Dr. Yuvaraj who took over as Vice-Chairman recently, told reporters who met him on Friday. Action would be taken against staff defaulting.

Similarly, the Estate wing would be asked to conduct an inventory all land owned by VUDA, how it got it and the survey number and projects and buildings to consolidate the assets. Besides all payments made towards various developments would be put real time online. All allotments, including plots left out in auctioning, would be put in public domain. Besides information on vacant shops and office space would also be made public. A drive would be launched to recover dues from people for plots bought etc. Status of legal cases would be monitored. An SMS system to enable citizens lodge a complaint or suggestion on problem in parks and atop Kailasagiri would be made available.
