‘Dr. Reddy used his might to serve people above considerations of religion, caste and creed’

KADAPA: Former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s family members, relatives and close aides offered prayers ‘samoohika aadarana koodika’ at an auditorium near YSR’s residence in Pulivendula urging the Almighty to bless that his soul rests in peace.

Bishop Yesu Varaprasad and six pastors conducted the prayers. YSR’s grief-stricken wife Vijayalaxmi, son Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, daughter-in-law Bharati, daughter Sharmila and son-in-law Anil Kumar, other family members and relatives offered prayers. Loyola College students recited songs in praise of YSR and recalled his kindness towards them.

Former Director-General of Police Swaranjit Sen and his wife, film actor Vijayachander and his family members also participated in the prayer service. YSR’s aged aunt Kamalamma, his sister Vimalamma, brothers Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy and Y.S. Raveendranath Reddy, Kadapa Mayor P. Ravindranath Reddy also took part. YSR was a pious man, who used his might to serve the people above considerations of religion, caste and creed and reached the God’s abode, the pastors said. Comparing him with Jesus’ trusted aide Moshe, they described YSR as a great leader, who was unique in many aspects. “Time and tide wait for none and God decides the time of everyone,” they said.
