Homam performed for early release of Jagan

Enthused by the announcement of padayatra by YSR Congress Party president Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s sister Y. S. Sharmila from October 18, the party activists on Saturday performed special pooja at the Santhapeta Anjaneyaswamy temple here for the success of her long march.

The party activists led by its propaganda wing Prakasam District convenor V. Suryanarayana alias Bujji and Youth Congress official spokesman Ch. Ashok Reddy, performed under the guidance of vedic priest Matampalli Srirama, Sarmaabhishegam and homam to appease to Lord Saturn on the auspicious ‘Sani Triyodasi’ also to seek divine intervention for early release of the party chief from jail.

Meanwhile, the party dalits wing objected to Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti president Manda Krishna Madiga extending support to ‘opportunistic’ TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu who was trying to hoodwink the Madigas once again after putting them at loggerheads with the Madigas.

The party Yerragondapalem Assembly constituency incharge P. David Raju told a press conference here that the TDP chief was shedding “crocodile tears” for Madigas for the sake of political survival after doing very little while in power for categorisation of SCs for the purpose of reservation in government jobs and educational institutions.

It was late Dr. YSR who had facilitated constitution of the Usha Mehra Committee on the issue of micro-classification of SCs, the former MLA added.

The party SC wing District Convenor K. Sudhakar said the June 12 byelections to a MP and 18 MLA seats showed that an overwhelming majority of dalits fully backed the YSRCP.
