The YSR Congress leaders took part in the protest programmes being organised by the Samaikyandhra Students and Employees JAC in support of their demand for the withdrawal of the UPA’s efforts to split Andhra Pradesh.

The YSRC leaders and the students organised a rally on the GT road in the city here on Saturday when they raised slogans against the AICC president Sonia Gandhi on the issue of separate statehood. YSRC city leaders Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Anil Kumar Yadav and others were present. The Samaikyandhra students went round the city to enforce the bandh with regard to the schools and colleges as part of the intensified protests against the bifurcation move.

The student activists entered the premises of some opened educational institutions and forced to the students to come out of the classrooms in favour of the Samaikyandhra agitation. The leaders said that the agitation would be further intensified till the UPA rolls back its decision to bifurcate the State.
