Discuss ways to strengthen party

With the government bracing itself to complete all pending elections, in an obvious move to test the waters ahead of the crucial 2014 general elections, the YSRC, in the politically-sensitive Chandragiri district, has got into the mode without wasting any time.

Senior leaders of the party such as Jupudi Prabhakar, MLC, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy (Tirupati MLA), Mahender Reddy and Balakrishna Reddy from Telangana region, former Minister, Mareppa, R.K. Roja, District party Convener, Narayanaswamy, Mithun Reddy (Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy’s son) huddled into a meeting convened here on Thursday by YSRC leader and former TUDA chairman Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy to discuss the steps to be taken to further strengthen the party, especially at the grass-root level to face the upcoming elections.

Jupudi and Karunakar Reddy, setting the tone for the discussion, lashed out at the Kiran Kumar Reddy government for its ‘gross misuse of official machinery’ in the just-concluded DCCB, DCMS and Co-operative Printing Press elections to win the favour of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, by playing the ‘worst tricks of the game’.

They dared the CM to face the YSRC in the upcoming local body elections—which they claimed was a different ball game.

They also lashed out at the Central and the State governments for their ‘vicious pleasure’ on seeing Jaganmohan Reddy, the party MP and YSR’s son, getting ‘forcibly confined’ to the prison, unable to take him on politically.

Karunakar Reddy complemented Chevireddy for his untiring efforts in keeping the YSRC fit for the fight and nearly declared that he would be the party candidate for the Chandragiri seat in the 2014 elections.
