The TDP chief is trying to exert pressure on CBI, alleges the YSRC leader

YSR Congress Vijayawada central constituency in-charge P. Gowtham Reddy is gearing up to file a contempt case against Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he said that the TDP president was trying to exert undue pressure on CBI by saying that the investigating agency was ‘biased’ towards YSRC leader Y.S Jaganmohan Reddy.

Criticising Mr. Naidu, he said that the TDP leader appears to have forgotten that on May 9, the Supreme Court directed the CBI to speed up the case and file the required charge sheets within four months and the investigating agency was following the directive. If Mr. Naidu felt that by speeding up the case the investigating agency was biased in its approach, then he is challenging the directive of the Apex Court and it was contempt of the judicial body.”

He further said, “Basing on this statement we have decided to file a contempt case against him and will be serving the notice in a day or two.” Mr. Gowtham Reddy alleged that the TDP supremo had a hand in the denial of bail for Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy. He claimed that whenever the bail application comes close for hearing, Mr. Naidu proceeds to New Delhi to influence the authorities concerned with help of Congress.

The YSRC leader said that by giving his consent on bifurcation of the State he had betrayed the six crore Telugu people. “He has killed their aspirations,” he pointed out.
