KADAPA: Kadapa district which has been backward for several decades and its development should be ensured by undertaking developmental programmes and creation of basic facilities at a rapid pace, Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy told officials on Sunday.
Dr. Reddy reviewed the progress of works in Kadapa Municipal Corporation, Proddatur and Pulivendula municipalities and works taken up by Pulivendula Area Development Agency (PADA). The Chief Minister assured Proddatur MLA N. Varadarajulu Reddy to sanction equipment and staff for Proddatur Government Hospital. He also assured sanction of equipment and staff in Vempalle and Badvel hospitals.
He instructed officials to forward proposals for upgradation of the 30-bed primary health centre at Tsundupalle and Badvel Government hospital.
He directed expediting of underground drainage system works in Kadapa Municipal Corporation. Kadapa Mayor P. Ravindranath Reddy told the Chief Minister that proposals were forwarded to replace worn-out pipelines in the erstwhile municipality area. The Buggavanka flood revetment wall should be speeded up by exerting pressure on the contractor, Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy said. He wanted redesigning of roads on either side of the revetment wall as high-level bridges. He told officials to strive to lay emphasis on the livelihood means to the poorer sections and improve their living conditions.
