Valedictory of ‘Colosseum-2013’ held
“The overwhelming protests by youth against the recent Delhi rape case revived my hope in the responsiveness of our youth. Only youth can reform our political leaders who are creating and wading in the dirty waters of politics,” said Tammareddy Bharadwaja, president of the AP Film Chamber of Commerce.
He was addressing, as the chief guest, the valedictory function of Colosseum-2013, the national-level management-cultural fest of Hyderabad Business School (HBS), a constituent of GITAM University, Hyderabad.
Mr. Bharadwaja called upon the youth to respond actively and constructively to societal issues, as well as to pay attention to becoming self-reliable. He fondly recalled his memories as an engineering student. In the valedictory, he gave away prizes to the winners of the competitions held in various formal and informal events as part of the Fest.
Earlier, the MBA students of Hyderabad Business School organised competitions in formal events like Young Manager, Business Plan, Nisadya - the Marketing event, Sambandha - the HR event, Scrola - the paper-presentation contest, and Business Quiz.
The second day of the event saw overwhelming participation from engineering and management institutions in the informal events like Craftazova (face-painting and paper craft attire), Dance (Solo & Group events), Treasure Hunt, Corporate Ramp Walk and Rock Bands.
Prof. S.S. Prasada Rao, congratulated the participants and organisers for creating a learning experience through Colosseum-2013.
D.V.V.S.R. Varma, Prof. Y. Manohar, Prof. A. Sree Ram, Dr. M. Jayasree and others participated in the programme.
