Collector Ramsankar Naik asked youth to emulate the ideals of great people and shape their career.

Inaugurating the youth festival-cum-competitions here on Friday, he said Jawahar Lal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi and Baba Saheb Ambedkar showed the path for the youth of the country and freed country from the tyranny of foreign rulers.

He said India was one of the powerful countries on the earth at the moment on account of a large size of youth population in the age group of 15 to 35 years. They could change the face of the country, he said.

Mr. Naik said the competitions were being held at district, State and National level. The winners at different levels would qualify for the finals.

District Youth Welfare Officer D.V. Ramana said many participants stood a fair chance to participate in the state level contest.

District Public Relations Officer Timmappa asked youth not to fall a victim to vices instead divert their energies for their own development and progress of the country.
