Telugu Desam Polit Bureau member K. Yerrannaidu on Wednesday lashed out at Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy for “utterly failing to ensure smooth administration” following the general strike in the Telangana region.

Addressing a media conference here, he demanded that the Centre intervene immediately as there was a “constitutional breakdown in the State.”

Holding the UPA government responsible for the current impasse in the State, he said the Centre failed to take a concrete decision on the Telangana issue. “ Essential services have been completely disrupted. The Chief Minister is found wanting in initiating measures to restore normalcy,” Mr. Yerrannaidu said.
