TRS Dharmapuri MLA flays delay in rehabilitating the project oustees

TRS Dharmapuri legislator Koppula Eshwar has alleged that the execution cost of the Sripada Yellampalli project has escalated from Rs. 900 crore in the year 2004 to Rs. 4,650 crore during the year 2013 but the completion of the project still remained a distant dream.

On the other hand, the government failed to provide suitable relief and rehabilitation to the land oustees on par with the escalation of Yellampalli project cost over the last eight years, he added.

In a press note here on Tuesday, Mr. Eshwar flayed Minister for Civil Supplies D. Sridhar Babu for claiming that they had provided suitable rehabilitation to the project oustees. Ridiculing the claims that the government had released Rs. 58,000 for construction of a house at the rehabilitation colonies, he asked whether a house could be constructed with such a meagre amount in this world of steep inflation.
