Distributes blankets and clothes to the poor

Three units of Youth Congress — Kakinada, Rajahmundry and Amalapuram — have jointly organised winter service programmes and District Youth Congress leader G.V. Sriraj on Thursday launched this programme in all the three places.

Speaking at Bommuru Centre on the outskirts of Rajahmundry, Mr. Sriraj said that keeping the winter season in mind, the National Youth Congress Committee had given a call to distribute blankets to the poor in the district. He said that they had distributed 500 blankets and winter clothes to poor.

As he was away in London for studies, his group failed to win the president post in the Youth Congress election and added that next time they will win and take up more service activities in all the three Parliamentary constituencies. Vice-president of Rajahmundry Parliamentary constituency Youth Congress unit V. Kiran presided over the meeting.

In Kakinada, a similar meeting was organised by president of Kakinada Parliamentary constituency Youth Congress unit A. Gopi.

District Congress Committee president Dommeti Venkateswarlu, NSUI president Musini Baburao, INTUC president S. Phaneeswara Rao and Kakinada City Congress president William Harry participated in the meeting.

Amalapuram meeting was presided over by M. Balaram, president of that constituency unit and Sevadal Organising secretary N. Krishnamohan made arrangements.
