Human chain marks the Lok Satta Party’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’

HYDERABAD: A human chain on the Tank Bund here on Thursday, marked the Lok Satta Party’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, a campaign aimed in increasing awareness among people on the need for national integration.

‘Bharat Jodo’ convenor Ankur Shukla said the ‘yatra’ was an effort to highlight unfair political practices and proclaim in the spirit of nationalism, the need for constructive solutions to fight poverty and unemployment.

The practices included the policy of ‘divide and rule’, adopted by different political parties and left Indians ‘fooled, ruled and plundered’. The ‘yatra’ was programmed to cover all the States with teams of artists before the general elections, he said.

Among those who participated in the human chain were Mahila Satta president P. Geeta Murthy and Working Committee member Rama Devi. A host of leaders from the districts too were present.
