VISAKHAPATNAM: "Industry is no longer people-driven. It is today driven by systems. To achieve high level of productivity and quality at low cost, industries should adopt concepts like total productive maintenance (TPM)," Coromandel Fertilisers Limited general manager N. Seetaram said here on Friday.
He was inaugurating the two-day workshop on TPM organised by the Indo-German Institute of Advanced Technology (IGIAT), promoted by the State Government, the Government of Germany and Gayatri Vidya Parishad.
IGIAT director P.S. Rao said that the concept of TPM originated in Japan in 1971. Over 30 engineers from Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Visakhapatnam Port Trust and HPCL are attending the workshop.
