Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada (JNTUK), in association with the Kakinada section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, is going to conduct a two-day workshop on ‘oil and gas: upstream processing' from Tuesday.
The programme will be held at the Alumni auditorium of the JNTUK in which Executive Director of the Eastern Offshore Asset of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation K. Anjaneyulu and Vice-Chancellor of the University G. Tulasi Ram Das will participate as chief guests.
The objective of the workshop is to provide a platform to students to interact with subject experts and to have firsthand information on the ongoing oil and gas exploration in the Krishna-Godavari Basin.
Experts from ONGC, Oil India Limited, Reliance Industries Limited, and GAIL India Limited will participate in the two-day programme, according to a press release.
To create awareness among the public about the all-India general strike by the employees and workers of the government departments on February 28, activists of various unions will be formed as human chain in the city on February 22 and take out a motorcycle rally on February 25.
District president of the All India Trade Union Congress P. Satyanarayana, in a statement here on Monday, said all the labour unions and employees associations would take part in the general strike demanding the government regulate the spiralling prices of commodities and waive the new pension plan.
