The Samana Institute of Fashion Technology, which has come up with a new State-of-the Art Design Studio in the city, will hold a workshop on Fashion Designing and popularising the creations in a fashion studio.

At a press conference here on Wednesday, the Samana Institute Chief Executive Officer Samana Moosavi said that not many understood the difference between designer wear and normal branded clothes that are mass produced for a company.

To bring awareness among students and people of Vijayawada, it wishes to display the professional works of their students, who had passed out of the institution and settled in their own studio or were working elsewhere. All 13 professionals passing out from the institute would display their talent and also explain the process of making the clothes. The institute was imparting one-year and six-month courses to the students with National Institute of Fashion Technology syllabus meticulously followed, Ms. Samana explained.

The large swanky studio could hold about 100 delegates on the second floor of the building that houses Music World on the Bandar Road in the city. Naming the workshop ‘Design your Desire', it proposes to expose the potential of the profession and industry that could employ some of the best designers or sustain entrepreneurial ventures.

About 30 students had been learning the course of which 17 were housewives, who wished to be self-supporting financially and now had a high level of confidence. They were into several projects given by clients. The workshop would begin at 11 a.m. and continue till afternoon. Those interested could walk into the studio and have first hand experience, she explained. For details people could contact the studio over phone No. 0866-2481755.
