“The past experience of my life and the trauma I have gone through during my childhood made me design a self-defence training programme against sexual abuse for both the genders aged from two to 40 years of age,” said Franklin Joseph from Karnataka, popularly known as Dr. Safety.

Addressing a women’s empowerment seminar organised by Anita Sakuru of Anne Sakuru Trust in the city here on Wednesday, he said that women should know how to tackle the fear factor. “Our objective is to convert the present reactive society to a proactive one. These workshops not only help the sufferer stand up but also train her extend support to others.” He has been doing a research on the said topic for more than 25 years. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Admin) Achyuta Rao emphasised on inculcating right attitude.

Supporting the statement further, Additional project director of District Rural Development Agency Tanuja Rani said that parents need to monitor their child’s behaviour.
