The percentage of women in State Police Department is low at two per cent and needs to be improved to five per cent at least, Hyderabad Police Commissioner A.K. Khan remarked on Tuesday.
Speaking at the ‘Awakening of Women' (Mahila Jagruti) programme organised on the International Women's Day at Traffic Police Complex, the Commissioner said women in Police Department were facing many problem at field level.
He asked the woman police personnel to view crime on women as a social crime as it affects the entire family of the victim. Mr. Khan conceded that women personnel don't have adequate facilities at many police stations and assured to do his best to provide better amenities soon.
The city would have two more women police stations in near future, the Commissioner announced.
