The buried body of a 30-year-old married woman surfaced in the bund of the river Swarnamukhi in Nayudupeta mandal limits in Nellore district with the police suspecting the role of relatives in the murder.

The police said that Deepa came along with her husband Murari, who was part of a group of 150 families from Orissa, to work for a glass company located in the Menakuru special economic zone.

Deepa’s body surfaced in the sands of the river on Thursday morning. When somebody informed the police about this, they visited the spot. It was said that the body was buried there four days ago.

The Nayudupeta police said that Deepa and her husband were beaten by 3 relatives. Both sustained injuries. The incident took place after Murari picked up an argument over their misbehaviour with Deepa, who used to cook meals for the group. The suspected relatives were absconding even as the police launched search operations.
