Swathi is a role model for children, says Chandramouli

Presented with the book Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘My Experiments with Truth’

Will create website giving pilot training information

KARIMNAGAR: Karimnagar Range DIG N. Chandramouli and his wife Vijayalaxmi on Tuesday evening felicitated Swathi, the first woman pilot from Andhra Pradesh.

Swathi is daughter of a traffic head constable in Adilabad district.

Speaking on the occasion, the DIG said that Swathi brought reputation to the entire police department and also to the public of the region with her deeds. He said that she had become role model for other children. On the occasion, he also presented her with a copy of Mahatma Gandhi’s, My Experiments with Truth.


Speaking on the occasion, Swathi appealed to parents to encourage their children in their selected career and not force them to study the courses which do not interest them.

She said that she had decided to create a website to provide all the information pertaining to pilot training course and guide the student community. She also said that the students interested in pursuing the course could consult her on her email ID:

Explaining about her pilot training course, she said that it is a enjoyable job and students should work hard. Stressing on the importance of communication skills, she said candidate’s performance would be judged on decision making process during emergencies, besides good academic performance. Swathi secured job in the United States and would be joining in the month of August.

Future plans

She said after her return to India she would become pilot for the Airbus. She said that she is planning to start a charitable trust to help the needy after settling in life. Her father Murali, mother and sister were also present.
