A former member of the Galikonda area committee of CPI (Maoist) Korra Singari alias Pulimi, who was leading a secret life after coming out of the party in 2011, surrendered at the G.K. Veedhi police station in Visakha Agency on Wednesday.
Singari of Yerragedda village of G.K. Veedhi mandal joined the Galikonda area committee in 2007 and came out with party’s permission in 2011. She carried a reward of Rs. 1 lakh on her head. Singari married Govinda Rao of Gorlemitta village and is living at Modikabanda village since then. Since she had not surrendered after coming out of the party, the former Maoist was living a sort of secret life.
The Sadbhavana Yatra conducted by Superintendent of Police G. Srinivas along with other senior police officers last month during which he urged the families of Maoists to prevail upon their children to surrender, encouraged Singari to surrender.
Inspector of G.K.Veedhi Y. Srinivas said after Singari’s surrender the eight cases against her would be withdrawn and the reward money on her head would be given to her later.
