HYDERABAD: A 40-year-old woman B. Laxmamma, who was working as a sweeper at Tolichowki telephone exchange, was found murdered at a secluded place in Raidurg on Saturday.

A resident of Mahatma Gandhi Nagar, the victim’s husband B. Laxman runs a roadside hotel close to Shaikpet nala. After finishing work at the exchange, Laxmamma used to assist her husband at the hotel. On Friday night, while Laxman stayed back at the hotel, his wife and two children went to their house. Their daughter Renu, 12, told the Raidurg police that her mother was not around when she woke up at 5 a.m. on Saturday. .

She woke up two hours later and did not find her mother. Then, the girl went to the hotel only to realise Laxmamma did not come there also. Even as the family members started searching for the Laxmamma, the Raidurg police received information that the body of an unidentified woman was lying in bushes close to Whisper Valley road. Based on the pouch, some letters and telephone numbers scribbled on pieces of papers collected from the spot, the police identified the body as that of Laxmamma.
