The anti-poaching squad of the Forest Department rescued a wild boar and arrested two persons for trapping the animal at Shivrampally here on Friday.

According to V. Tirumala Rao, forest range officer of the squad, acting on a tip off, the wild boar was rescued from Mandula Seenu and Prasad of Gudem, Shivrampally, and later released into the national park at Chilkur.

A case has been booked as per provisions of the Willdlife (Protection) Act against the duo who were planning to kill the animal and they could face a fine of up to Rs.25,000 for the offence, he said.
